Impact Report 2020

Introducing FEA’s first-ever Impact Report

Because our work is not done, we invite you to support FEA in the future, as we continue to support students in a global landscape that has been forever altered by the events of the past year.

– FEA Executive Director Angie Schaffer

Dear Friend of FEA,

I am thrilled to share with you the Fund for Education Abroadโ€™s first-ever Impact Report. What a decade weโ€™ve had! Since 2010, the Fund for Education Abroad has supported more than 600 scholars in pursuing their study abroad dreams. We could not have accomplished this decade of success increasing access to international education without you.

As a supporter of FEA, you shape the futures of our scholars and alumni. You have worked with us to broaden awareness of our scholarships at higher education institutions across the country, including community colleges and minority-serving institutions (MSIs). We have worked together to advance justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in international education and, as our scholars become professionals, in the working world. And, because of your generosity and support, we have built our organization sustainably so that FEA could support scholars despite the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic presented throughout 2020 and 2021.

While we have accomplished a great deal, we remain dedicated to our mission of increasing access to study abroad, particularly for students who are people of color, are the first in their families to attend college, or have spent part of their undergraduate careers in community college. Though the full financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in higher education continues to play out, the students FEA aims to support have been and may continue to be among the most impacted.

Because our work is not done, we invite you to support FEA in the future, as we continue to support students in a global landscape that has been forever altered by the events of the past year. We hope to see you at our virtual events in Fall 2021, and events weโ€™re planning in 2022. We are halfway to our campaign goal of $10 million, a figure that ensures a significant impact on generations of future FEA Scholars and alumni. As FEAโ€™s new Executive Director, I promise to continue to build on the significant strides and accomplishments of FEAโ€™s champions as we move into our next decade.

Weโ€™ve accomplished so much together–but our journey is just beginning as we head into this next decade. Make a donation today that is vital in creating a truly representative and inclusive world of international exchange.

We invite you to read the enclosed report to learn more about FEA, and become further inspired by our scholarsโ€™ stories. Thank you, for all that you have done and all that you will do, to support FEA Scholars.

Sincerely,

Angela Schaffer, Executive Director
