Future Career Goals: My future career goals include advocacy through social work. I want to advocate for all mankind, but I specifically want to work with troubled youth/ juveniles. I believe focusing on the youth is focusing on the future. I want to illustrate to troubled youth/juveniles that the route they are currently going on doesn’t have to be the one they take; there is always a choice to grow from a situation. In the future, I also want to obtain my Master’s degree and Ph.D. in social work and soon after that start a non-profit organization for youth affected by parental incarceration.
Top 3 Goals for your time abroad: My top 3 goals for my time abroad include gaining practical hands-on experience that I wouldn't acquire at my university, obtaining a deeper understanding and appreciation for a culture other than my own, and exemplifying to other minority students that scholastic opportunities such as studying abroad are attainable.
