2021-2023 Achievement Report
Dear Friend of FEA,
I am thrilled to share with you the Fund for Education Abroad’s Achievement Report 2021-2023. It’s been quite a busy time these last three years as we continued to rebound from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As we approach the second half of this decade and enter FEA’s 15th year, it is not lost on us that YOU played a vital role in ensuring we are still here, supporting access to international education.
As a supporter of FEA, you continue to shape the futures of our scholars and alumni. You have worked with us to broaden awareness of our scholarships at higher education institutions across the country, including community colleges and HBCUs. We have worked together to advance justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in international education and as our scholars become professionals in the working world. And, because of your generosity and support, we have built our organization sustainably so that FEA can continue supporting scholars despite a multitude of challenges, including the lingering effects of the pandemic and attacks on identity-based scholarships.
We are extremely proud to have supported over 1,100 FEA Scholars, and to have provided guidance and financial literacy to so many other students. We have accomplished a great deal and remain dedicated to our mission of increasing access to study abroad, particularly for students who are people of color, are the first in their families to attend college, or have spent part of their undergraduate education in community college. While our current award rate is less than five percent, we aim to raise our award rate, even as more students than ever before apply for FEA Scholarships—a sign that there is a will to study abroad. You can help FEA to be the way.
Because our work is not done, we encourage you to make a gift to FEA now to support students in reaching their study abroad dreams. All donations to FEA are tax-deductible, and there are so many ways to give! Attend an event. Sponsor an FEA get-together. Become a monthly donor. Start a named scholarship in honor of someone you love (or yourself!). Volunteer as an application reviewer. Your gift—of funding, of time—signifies your commitment to education abroad opportunities for all.
We’ve accomplished so much together–but our journey is just beginning as we head into FEA’s 15th anniversary. Your donation today is vital in creating a truly representative and inclusive world of international exchange.
