Amsterdam and Brussels

Last weekend was my very first time exploring beyond the city, and I got to visit two incredible places: Amsterdam and Brussels. First Brussels, this charming city welcomed me with open arms. As I walked around, I couldn’t help but admire the beautiful architecture and the friendly atmosphere. One of the highlights was visiting the Grand Place, a grand square in the heart of the city. The buildings around it were so intricate and fascinating, I couldn’t stop taking pictures!

One thing that you absolutely can’t miss in Brussels is their famous comic museum. I had a blast exploring the world of comics and learning about their cultural significance. Oh, and the best part? Indulging in delicious Belgian waffles! These waffles were unlike any I had ever tasted before โ€“ crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and topped with the most delightful toppings.

At night, the city transformed into a breathtaking spectacle of lights. The Grand Place was particularly stunning, adorned with colorful lights that illuminated the square. I shared this special moment with my friend as we sat down in the main square and watched a mesmerizing light show unfold before our eyes. It was like stepping into a fairytale!

On the first very first day in Amsterdam, we embarked on a canal boat tour with a few friends. Gliding along the serene canals, we had the perfect vantage point to see the city’s unique architecture and picturesque bridges. Amsterdam’s beauty truly shone as we cruised along the water.

But that’s not all โ€“ we even had a chance to play life-sized chess! Picture this: moving chess pieces that were taller than us on a giant board. It was a fun and strategic game that added a unique twist to our adventure. The city seemed to embrace every moment of our visit, offering us fun and unforgettable experiences.

Summing it all up, my weekend trip outside of London to Amsterdam and Brussels was absolutely fantastic. From the charming streets of Brussels, the delectable Belgian waffles, and the captivating light show, to the enchanting canals and the joy of playing giant chess in Amsterdam, every moment was special. It was truly a weekend to remember โ€“ one that left me with incredible memories and a longing to explore even more of the world beyond London.
