Vatican Museum

I also had a guided tour of the Vatican Museum during my one-day exploration of Vatican City. The Vatican Museums comprise over 50 galleries, including the Sistine Chapel, the Raphael Rooms, and the Gallery of Maps. The collection includes ancient Roman and Greek sculptures, renaissance art, and religious artifacts from around the world.

I had an opportunity to learn more about the Chruch history through countless unique artworks, ancient sculptures, and collections from different popes, such as the pope’s election that happened inside the Sistine Chapel. One of the most famous and popular attractions in the Vatican Museums is the Sistine Chapel, which features Michelangelo’s stunning ceiling frescoes. The Raphael Rooms are another highlight, featuring frescoes Raphael and his students painted.

All these paintings, especially the Sistine Chapel, amazed and overwhelmed me.
