Hungarian Parliament

I also visited the Hungarian Parliament during my weekend trip to Budapest. The Hungarian Parliament Building, also known as the Országház in Hungarian, is a magnificent example of neogothic architecture and is located on the banks of the Danube River in Budapest, Hungary. The building is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary and is one of the country’s most iconic landmarks. Construction of the Parliament Buildings began in 1885 and was completed in 1904 after nearly two decades of planning and construction. The building was designed by Hungarian architect Imre Steindl, inspired by the Palace of Westminster in London. I learned that most of the sculptures and artifacts inside the parliament are rooted back to and influenced by Christianity.
