Escape to the Beach

Planning a trip takes time, commitment, and encouragement. Mostly when you are in a foreign country you are not familiar with. It can be scary to take quick decisions but this was not the case. Last weekend my friends and I decided to be adventurous and explore more about South Korea. We choose to go for a one day trip to Busan, South Korea. Busan is the second largest city in South Korea and is well-known for its beaches and temples. It was an unpredictable trip but it was totally worth it.

We left our dorms at 7:00 a.m. and took the train to Seoul Station, which is where we can take the train to Busan. We took the Korean Train Express (KTX) and it was very impressive. If we were to drive from Seoul to Busan it would take about 4 hours and 20 minutes. However, the KTX took 2 hours and 30 minutes. I was very impressed with how fast and convenient it is for people to travel around Korea.

We arrived at Busan at 12:20 p.m. and enjoyed our first meal at Lotteria, which is a fast-food restaurant, then we took a 30-minute subway to Haeundae Beach. When I got there I felt so much happiness, freedom, and bravery. Going to the beach is not an easy decision and mostly when it is not planned. There are many things to consider but for the first time, I felt that I was capable of doing such things. This would be the second time that I have been at the beach. It brought many memories that I had since I went to the beach with my family. It was a beautiful experience.

As you can see in the picture, I have a hoodie on. The temperature that one day was 72 F, which it was fine with me. I could feel the ocean breeze and relax with this beautiful view.

We headed back to Seoul at 7:00 p.m. on that same day and arrived at 9:25 p.m. I can say that it was a very unexpected and tiring trip but it was totally worth it. I got to experience something that I have never thought I would be able to do. I got to discover many things about myself and realized how important it is to appreciate every single day of our lives. For you, who are reading this I want to say thank you. Thank you for your support and for believing in this dreamer.

Wish me luck,

Aurora.
