Blog 4 – Kennedy Town and Victoria Peak

Published:

During orientation at HKU, I participated in sightseeing tours organized by the university, which included visits to Kennedy Town and Victoria Peak, both conveniently located near our school. Kennedy Town, a relatively old district currently undergoing redevelopment, beautifully blends old-world charm with modern developments. The area boasts clear waters, providing a refreshing escape, and offers affordable dining options that preserve the traditional Hong Kong flavor.

Victoria Peak, commonly known as The Peak, is the highest point on Hong Kong Island, rising to 552 meters. It provides breathtaking panoramic views of the city’s iconic skyline and is a popular spot for hiking. Our nighttime visit to The Peak was particularly memorable; the view of the central business district and Victoria Harbour was worth the one-hour climb.

Together, Victoria Peak and Kennedy Town showcase the multifaceted nature of Hong Kong. While The Peak offers a serene escape with its natural beauty and stunning vistas, Kennedy Town exemplifies urban sophistication with its dynamic lifestyle and cultural richness.
