Hello, my name is Kathy Kha. As a 21-year-old student, this will be the first time I am living away from my family for two weeks. I grew up in poverty with my single mother and three brothers in a very strict household. So going to a different country for two weeks will be a scary but exciting adventure. Since I grew up in a lot of Asian cultures, I have followed many of the Asian customs and values, such as respecting elders and taking off your shoes before entering a house. I have always wanted to study abroad as a bucket list in college, however, now that it is happening within two months, it still feels surreal. I hope to not feel too restricted with my customs and be able to learn new things while studying abroad in Japan.
