WASHINGTON, DC, December 17, 2018 โ The Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) has earned the 2018 GuideStar Platinum Nonprofit Seal of Transparency. The GuideStar Platinum is the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the worldโs largest source of information on nonprofit organizations.
FEA was awarded Platinum level for adding extensive metrics demonstrating progress and results to the FEA Nonprofit Profile on GuideStar, along with basic organizational information, financials, goals, and strategies. FEA is among the only 6,982 Platinum seal recipients from among the 2.7 million nonprofits found in GuideStarโs database โ less than one quarter of one percent to have attained the top rating.
GuideStar, founded in 1994, specializes in reporting on U.S. nonprofits. They also serve to help donors and funders explore organizations they want to support, research grantees, and verify that a recipient organization is established. GuideStar Nonprofit Profiles have implemented three seals; Bronze, Silver, and Gold, based on the information a nonprofit provides in its profile and later introduced Platinum as a way to allow nonprofits to share the difference they are making. According to their website, the seal โencourages nonprofit organizations to share their progress and results in important new waysโmoving way beyond simplistic financial ratiosโto reflect the changes organizations are making in the world.โ
The seal of transparency demonstrates FEAโs dedication to maintain its openness to those who support the mission of making international education accessible to all students.
