Washington, D.C., May 1, 2025 โ Study in a leading collegiate program in Barcelona, Spain is now possible for high-performing American students for whom study abroad was financially out of reach thanks to a $12,500 annual grant from Barcelona SAE and its partnership with the Fund for Education Abroad (FEA). As the newest member of FEAโs Access Partner Program, Barcelona SAE joins other leaders in international education working collaboratively to make the dream of study abroad a reality for top U.S. students.
Beginning in Fall 2025, U.S. students interested in studying in Barcelona and accepted by FEA will be awarded funding for a full-semester or summer Barcelona SAE program.
โWe are thrilled to partner with FEA; an organization which is doing such critical work to widen access to international education to more students,โ said Kyle Keith, Director of TODOS and Assistant Director of University Relations at Barcelona SAE. โAs Barcelona specialists, we are always identifying new and creative ways to remove barriers, such as costs, for students to study or intern in Catalonia. I cannot wait to celebrate our inaugural FEA Scholars in the coming months!โ
The FEA Access Partner Program brings together study abroad providers, institutions, and other international education leaders who share a commitment to FEAโs core mission to provide scholarships and ongoing support to students with financial need who face barriers to participation in education abroad.
The program has grown from its 2017 launch to include 15 total Access Partners. Barcelona SAE joins AIFS Abroad, CEA CAPA Education Abroad, CET Academic Programs, DIS: Study Abroad in Scandinavia, EF: Education First, Education in Ireland, FIE: Foundation for International Education, IFSA (Institute for Study Abroad), Sea Education Association (SEA), Semester at Sea, SIT Study Abroad, The University of Sydney, University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC), and WorldStrides.
โWe are so grateful for the partnership of Barcelona SAE as we work to support and fund U.S. students who dream of studying abroad but lack the resources to do so,โ said FEA Executive Director Angela Schaffer. โThe Access Partners are a unique group because they are almost all competitors, but they are united by a common goalโcollaboratively eliminating barriers to study abroad.โ
