Future Career Goals:

My future career goals in nursing are to specialize in neonatal care and ultimately become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). I plan to complete my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), building on the foundation I am gaining in my current Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program. To further this goal, I will be taking a summer course in Waterford, Ireland, which will count toward my BSN requirements. After earning my BSN, I aim to gain experience in neonatal nursing to deepen my clinical expertise, and then pursue advanced education to become an NNP. This path will enable me to provide specialized, critical care to newborns and support their families during some of their most challenging times. Ultimately, my goal is to make a meaningful, lasting impact on the health and well-being of newborns and their families.

Top 3 Goals for your time abroad:

Enhance my Nursing Education and Skills: During my time abroad in Waterford, Ireland, I aim to take advantage of the unique learning opportunities available, expanding my knowledge in nursing. I hope to gain exposure to different healthcare systems and practices, broadening my perspective on patient care and nursing techniques.

Develop Cross-Cultural Competence: Living and studying abroad will allow me to immerse myself in a different culture, improving my ability to communicate and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds. This will be valuable for my future career as a nurse, especially in neonatal care, where working with families from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds is essential.

Build Global Professional Networks: I plan to network with nursing professionals, professors, and students from other countries to foster international connections that could enhance my future career opportunities. These relationships could provide valuable insights into global healthcare practices and broaden my understanding of nursing in different cultural contexts.
