More About This Scholar
Home Institution: Macalester College
Expected Graduation Year: 2024
Academic Major / Minor: Political Science & Education Studies / Humanitarianism
Destination: Sao Paulo, Brazil
“Hello” in your host country’s language: Ola!
Program Provider: CET
Demographics: Hispanic/Latinx, First-Generation American, First-Generation College Student, Indigenous (Central America)
Future Career Goals: I can see myself pursuing many different career paths since I love law, education, and social work, so I’m still trying to figure out what exactly I want to do after graduating college. I do plan on attending law school to hopefully become a human rights lawyer, but I’m also considering a career in education policy. Overall, I would like to pursue a legal path.
Top Three Study Abroad Goals: Master my Portuguese language skills to the best of my ability; Learn about the structures and history of social justice movements and their real life impacts on Brazilian society and the greater Latin American region; Grow out of my comfort zone and immerse myself into Brazilian culture, even if it might be intimidating as an outsider :)
