I recently had the incredible opportunity to travel to Egypt with a couple of my roommates, and it was an experience that truly opened my eyes. From the moment we landed, I felt a rush of excitement. Egypt is a place I’ve always dreamed of visiting, and to finally be here was surreal. One of the highlights of our trip was riding camels around the Pyramids of Giza. As we mounted our camels and began our trek, I couldnโ€™t help but feel a sense of wonder. The towering pyramids in the distance looked just as magnificent as I had imagined. The camel ride itself was exhilarating; the gentle sway of the camel as it moved felt like a connection to the ancient past. It was amazing to think about the countless people who have walked this land over the centuries. While in Egypt, I absolutely fell in love with the food. We sampled everything from flavorful kebabs to warm, fresh pita bread, and every meal felt like a celebration. I particularly enjoyed trying local dishes like kochari and falafel. The spices and flavors were unlike anything I had tasted before, and eating together with my roommates at local eateries made it all the more special. Exploring the culture was another enriching part of the experience. We visited bustling markets, where vibrant colors and scents filled the air. I remember being captivated by the beautiful Egyptian scents oils and perfumes that seemed to tell their own stories. We met many local people who were eager to share their culture with us, and I loved hearing their stories. It was a reminder of how connected we all are, no matter where we come from. One of the most humbling experiences was witnessing the daily lives of the local people. It was clear that many were living on limited means, yet there was a sense of warmth and joy that was inspiring. I found myself reflecting on my own life, especially during moments when I feel overwhelmed or stressed. It struck me how these individuals, despite having so little, still managed to find happiness in everyday moments. I felt a deep sense of gratitude for what I have, and it was a powerful reminder that happiness doesnโ€™t always come from material wealth. We also went ATV riding through the desert, which was an absolute blast! The thrill of speeding across the sandy landscape, surrounded by breathtaking views of the pyramids, was exhilarating. It was a perfect blend of adventure and wonder. Throughout our time in Egypt, I made it a point to give back where I could. Whether it was sharing a few coins with street vendors or offering help to those in need, it felt important to connect with the community in a meaningful way. These interactions left a lasting impression on me, they reminded me of the importance of kindness and empathy. As I reflect on this trip, I realize it has changed the way I view life. I came back with a new perspective one that embraces gratitude and appreciation for the simple things we have back home. Egypt showed me that even in the face of hardship, people can find joy and fulfillment. It was an experience that enriched my understanding of the world and reminded me of the beauty of connection. Iโ€™m grateful for the chance to explore such a remarkable country and for the friendships that were deepened along the way. I canโ€™t wait to see where my adventures will take me next!
