It is impossible to have visited a better place than Scotland before the sad end of my trip. I totally understand why my friend states that Scotland has been his favorite destination of all the countries. Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland was a marvelous place. I was amazed by the architecture of the city, the shops and restaurants along the Royal Mile as well as the people, food, whiskey, stories and adventures on every corner.
Letโs go and discover some of Scotlandโs secrets and beauties.
One of the most impressive places I have ever visited was the Highlands of Scotland. Its wondrous landscapes take you on a magical journey. Some of the most well-known sites in the Highlands are Loch Ness which houses Nessie.
Urquhart Castle near its shores and small villages provide beautiful scenic views as well. Some of the most traditional and delectable Scottish dishes include meat pies, soup, and stews (I loved Cullen Skink), desserts such as shortbread; and the famous Irn-Bru (a carbonated soft drink considered for many locals as second Scotlandโs national drink after whiskey).
Another adventure that deserves the highest recognition is the unparalleled tradition of English Afternoon Tea. If you ever go to the UK you must participate in this delectable event! The fancy cups and pots are ready to carry the most flavored teas.
On the bottom tier you can find a wide variety of finger sandwiches. On the middle tier, you can see one of my favorite treats which is scones which are accompanied by jam and cream. On the top, there were many types of savory pastries that tempted me to ruin my good manners by licking my fingers.
Scotland was the cherry on top for my trip. It reaffirmed to me that our planet encompasses places, cultures, and secrets that we must see in our lives. I hope my adventure has helped you catch the travel bug. There is no way I can stop now. I am already thinking about my next adventure, what is yours?
