Today I had the amazing opportunity to visit Colegio Agropecuario de San Carlos, the agricultural high school for students in the Alajuela province of Costa Rica. Here students can attend this private school at only a fraction of the price due to the government’s support. Students who attend can choose among four different paths to specialize in after the completion of their third year. Students can choose to specialize in tourism, computer science and technology, agriculture, or agribusiness and food production. During my visit, I was given a tour by a fantastic group of tourism students. Depicted below is an activity that we set the table using local flowers and fruit. In the afternoon, in the food lab, we learned how to make cheese and yogurt with other students. The other picture is the group of students after completing the yogurt and cheese. Overall, witnessing all the amazing things the students were doing was amazing. Until next time, Pura Vida!
