Is it Friday yet?!
Most of us participated in the study abroad program because we wanted to travel but very few of us knew that we would be a part of Maastricht Universities Honors Program. We are all capable of doing well here but the issue is we did not mentally prepare for this, we planned to really spend more time traveling. Therefore, it has been a little difficult dealing with the course load.
How do we deal with these issues? We all keep each other updated with each other’s coursework. We all check up on one another. Ask about assignments, ask about our lectures, and discussions. My group of friends and I keep one another accountable. Also, we all travel together so we remind each other when we are missing class or when we are leaving early to catch a flight.
I truly appreciate our ability to keep one another accountable. I feel it has made me more responsible because I have a constant reminder of my courses. Also, traveling pressures me to create a schedule. If I am traveling Friday, but have a paper due Saturday, then that means I have to study Monday-Thursday and cannot go out. I am constantly filling in my calendar with travel plans and assignment deadlines. However, I am grateful for the friends I have made because they have not only prioritized our fun traveling plans but also my schoolwork.
