Halfway point!

Published:

This week is the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end as we are officially at the halfway point.

We started the week by visiting the Medical School located in Copenhagen which had a breathtaking view of the city (shown below) and were even able to see organs/body systems in a real macro anatomical lab (no pic to respect those that donated). Also, my friends and I rented a GoBoat, a boat you can drive yourself at like 2 mph, to cruise the canal which was super fun & very cheap if you go with a large group! We also had our 2 hour final for my medical class this week, signaling the end of such an amazing learning experience. After what Iโ€™ve learned and experienced through this course, I am more excited than ever to pursue a career in the field of medicine. I also understand the important experiences like these are in shaping what I want to do for the rest of oneโ€™s future decisions.

As a reward for finishing the course, a few classmates and I booked a cheap trip to Amsterdam which was super fun! From visiting the Van Gogh Museum to relaxing at Vondelpark and Amstelpark, our quick little vacation was a nice getaway before beginning our second round of courses.

For the next three weeks, Iโ€™ll be taking Nordic Culinary Culture, a class that dives into the relationship between food, identity and culture here. Iโ€™m super excited as it is a completely different focus than my previous course and gives credit towards my minor! Also, DIS has a mandatory study tour included during this session of summer, so my class and I will be traveling to the Faroe Islands for my second week of this course which Iโ€™m looking forward to!

Iโ€™m very thankful for this opportunity and I couldnโ€™t experience it at all without those that contributed, and for that I am forever grateful! Canโ€™t wait to update yโ€™all on how my class begins this week!

See ya then (:
