A Trip to the Farmer’s Market

Read all the exciting things our scholars have been up to!

This morning, I visited a local farmer’s market, searching for new and exotic fruits. As I entered the market, I was greeted with the sweet smell of fruit and chocolate. There were booths lined up wall to wall with locals selling fresh fruits, and produce along with, chocolate, coffee, and spices. I was able to try out some of the most fantastic chocolate freshly made at a booth. I was also able to try tons of new fruit like Starfruit, Lychee, Passion fruit, and Dragon fruit. Everything about the market was so welcoming and had a sense of community. I was able to see how much more diverse the agriculture sector is here in Costa Rica and how it differs from the markets I am used to experiencing back in the United States. Depicted below are some of the images of the market and some of the amazing produce there. Until next time, Pura Vida!
