Weekend trip to Stockholm!

Greetings from Stockholm!
I had planned a quick weekend trip to Stockholm with some of my friends that live in the same dormitory as me. I only had two full days there because I had planned out the trip so that I wouldn’t miss any of my Friday and Monday classes. I thought I wouldn’t have enough time to truly get to know the city, but that wasn’t the case at all! My friends and I used every hour of every day to see or try something new. We managed to find a free tour and we got to visit a few of the top things on my list that I wanted to see like the Gamla Stan Palace and the Old Town colorful houses. It was such an amazing trip and I feel like I got to know some of my friends a lot better than I already did. It was definitely a great bonding experience. I got to try the traditional Swedish meatballs and almost had them for every meal during my time in Stockholm. I didn’t know how much I truly enjoyed meatballs before visiting Sweden. I also tried Reindeer for the first time in my entire life! There was an interesting taste to it, I didn’t dislike it nor did I like it. I think I will stick to pig and cow from now on, but it was definitely something cool for me to tell my family and friends back home. On our last day in Stockholm, we managed to get to the Vasa Museum 20 minutes before closing time and they aren’t supposed to sell tickets that close to closing time but the woman working the front desk let us all in for free to take a quick look at the Vasa ship. This was such a sweet surprise for us all because we really wanted to see it and going in for free saved us some money to be able to spend on our last dinner in this wonderful city. We made the best out of the 20 minutes that we had. It was unreal to see the seventeenth-centuryโs only preserved ship on Earth in person. The amount of detail that goes into a huge ship like this is extremely fascinating to me. I came across a smaller model of the boat explaining what each floor/room was used for when the warship was out at sea. This came in extremely handy for me especially since I only had a total of 20 minutes to soak up as much information as I possibly could. Overall, visiting Sweden was such an amazing experience and it made me realize how easy it is to travel to neighboring countries from Denmark. Hopefully, I will be able to travel to Berlin next! Even Though I had such an amazing experience in Stockholm, it also made me realize how much I like Copenhagen better. No shade towards the Swedish, it was just an eye opener for me and made me realize how lucky I am to have made such a great choice with studying abroad for the semester in Copenhagen, Denmark.
