I wish to properly communicate with my patients as a future Physician Assistant and offer them the utmost care possible. Top 3 goals for your time abroad: During my time in Mexico, I hope to gain an understanding of the culture and intricacies in different forms of healing and healthcare. I also want to improve my cultural competency so that I may apply it to my future goal of becoming a Physician Assistant. Finally, I'd like to connect with others who share my enthusiasm for healthcare.

This week, I formally began my internship at La Cruz Roja. Since this is a new setting for me, I was a little nervous, but I’m looking forward to gaining more experience and using the medical terminology I acquired for the course I did. The first week was successful all around! It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know all the healthcare professionals; they were all friendly, eager to get to know me, teach me, and allow me to observe as much as I could. I’m excited to see what the program will have in store for me during the coming week.
