Toledo (May 26, 2023)

Iโ€™ve only been in Spain for two days, but today I went on my first excursion to Toledo. I loved everything about this city from the history and architecture to the ambiance of the people. This city has many characteristics of Italy because itโ€™s a very old one. One thing that I loved the most was the structure and aesthetic of the apartments and buildings because most of them remind me of vintage warehouses and lofts. Very few things here are modern, and I love that. Iโ€™ve always been attracted to older, more secluded places so Toledo is perfect for me. When I was there, I visited the Mezquita Cristo de la Luz, Sinagoga del Trรกnsito, and the Catedral. All of these sites were absolutely exquisite. Every building, artifact, painting, and sculpture was so detailed and intrinsic. You can tell that the artist really took their time. As I was looking at all of these things, one question that I had was โ€œHow have they maintained it so well throughout all of these yearsโ€? While in Toledo, I also took a tour bus, so I got to see a lot of sites from a great view. Later in the day, I went to a coffee shop, which was so quaint and cozy. I literally got coffee and a croissant for three dollars which is crazy considering it would have been ten in the United States. So far, Iโ€™m really enjoying Spain and canโ€™t wait to experience more.
