Cadiz (June 17, 2023)
This week we were given a free weekend so and couple of friends and I caught the bus to Cadiz. Itโs like an hour and a half from Seville, which is not bad at all. When we got there, we went to the beach for a couple of hours and then walked around exploring the city. I tried a new dish which is a big deal for me because Iโve never try new foods, but it wasnโt bad. Because we got there early, there werenโt as many people at the beach, but as the day progressed, more and more came. One thing that did surprise me was the level of freedom here. At the beach, there were so many topless people and I have to say, I was not prepared for that because, in the United States, public nudity is typically frowned upon. Itโs always interesting to see how societal norms differ in each place. Cadiz has so many apartment-type buildings so everywhere you go, itโs like youโre getting a view of the city. Later that night, we went dancing and got pizza so that was a lot of fun. Even though this excursion was short, I really enjoyed myself. Most of the people in Spain are very kind, and even though I have had some bad experiences, I donโt feel like a foreigner here. I love going to a new pace every week!
