My first snow

Well it is just about winter here in Germany. It is so different from southern California. I can’t even believe how sheltered I have been up till now. As an example, the other day in San Diego, California it was 80+ degrees. In Heidelberg, it regularly gets as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit or colder. To me that is really cold! It snows here as well, which I am very excited about. I have never experienced it before. It is so odd to walk to school when it is so cold out. I know that a lot of people back home have to live through this every year, but it’s new to me.

In other news, my girlfriend is coming to visit me. This is the longest I have been away from home, so it will be nice to see a familiar face. She will be hanging out with me for winter break. I am looking forward to having somebody to spend Christmas with. We are also going to visit Paris. I am sure that will make an interesting blog post! I have never been before, but we are planning on seeing all of the major sights. Hopefully I will have some good pictures to show you all!

My classes are going really well. It is weird being on such a different schedule than everyone back home. My American friends have all taken their finals and are looking forward to another finished semester, and I am barely starting midterms! It was nice when I first got here, because I had so much time before classes started to relax. When I go back, though, I will pay for it! I will have two to three weeks before I start classes again for the fall semester back home. That is not very much at all.

Well, that is all I have to say for now. I don’t lead a very exciting life, I am afraid. But I am planning on writing another blog post within the next week to tell you all about Paris!
