The Final Entry! I’m currently writing my experiences to Tai Dong, and whenever I’m done with that document, I’ll upload that as well!
8/8/2018 The Thirteenth Emotion: Love
Love, โto like another person a lot, or to hold strong feelings of liking a friend or familyโ.
Love is simply the care and devotion you feel for the precious ones around you. Besides happiness, this is the most important positive emotion, perhaps in all of life. Itโs so important that itโs what people talk about all the time, both in its positive and negatives. With love, you end up seeing thing that donโt even exist. Love is important in vocables (spoken) and silence, because love is not always communicated through words, but sometimes in actions or feelings. Love is good. It changes people, for better or for worse, for me, I see it as a chance to change myself. The best kind of love helps us grow up. When I speak of love, I speak about the relationships we have with other people. Friends, lover, family, itโs all important. Today I wonโt insert my friendโs quote, today I will give you my life philosophy, and that is: โLove is a constant choiceโ.
What do I mean by that? There are many examples, but Iโve been showing it this whole time. To care about someone, to worry about someone, to wanting to make sure that theyโre happy. This means that youโll treat them with genuine kindness regardless of time, occasion, and place. In my case, I always choose to love, because Iโm thankful for the people around me, and because I simply want to, Iโm just a loving person. Think about this, โif love is just a word, then why does it hurt so much if it isnโt there?โ Even though love is complicated, it’s without a doubt one of the most important emotions in this world. How do you love? To love others, you must begin with loving yourself, thatโs important. Donโt mistake love for romance, they are two different things.
8/10/2018 Conclusion: Memories
Memory, โthe ability to remember information, experiences, and people.โ
Memories, โsomething that you remember from the past.โ
Much more than just notebook, this book is a representation of my memories. Everything that Iโve written in this notebook are things that Iโve heard, spoken, and learned throughout my life. This letter is the accumulation of my experiences thus far, and Iโm happy that I can share it with you. What is my message? My life. My life is my message. Who am I sharing it with? You.
In the beginning, this notebook was merely an idea. I wanted to give a gift that could be with you always, a gift that you could always come back to, and something that wasnโt of monetary value.
In life, whenever you felt a positive emotion, I wanted to give you my advice and thoughts. Whenever you felt a negative emotion, I wanted to give you comfort and encouragement. By the time you read this, Iโm already gone. I want to tell you that I have no regrets leaving Taiwan, I departed with only good memories in my heart. Memory, itโs like painting an artwork, even if you mix the artwork with a new color, the old colors remains, forever. Your memories are a part of what makes you who are you, itโs your story. The happy memories, even the sad, painful, and embarrassing ones, should not ever be forgotten. To conclude this long letter, thank you for all of your time, truly, I wonโt ever forget you! Iโll always be there for you, to support you through good times and bad. This is not a goodbye, but a see you later, during the winter perhaps. Wherever your future takes you, I hope that youโll always be smiling as bright as the warm sun.
Samara: โIn life, whenever we encounter other people, even though our experiences may be the same, people will always remember things differently and different aspects will come into focus. Look at memories from a positive angle, not the negative. Sometimes, you may not exactly remember how it happened; you look for justification and reassurance; regardless, donโt forget the purity of your memories, theyโre precious simply because theyโre yours and no one elseโs.For the sake of this letter length, I choose to not write the โExtraโ content on here. All of that information, you will find in the notebook, I hope my handwriting isnโt too awful on there…
Closer Quote from me and Jack:
โYou are a child of the universe,
No less than the trees and the stars,
You have a right to be there.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.โ
-Max Ehrmann, Desiderata: A poem for a way of life.
Thank you for reading the entirety of my project! I hope that you like it, and I hope that it wasn’t as cheesy as I thought it would turn out.
