It is my fourth day in Vicenza and I find myself in the midst of a market day. In this small town, it normally feels quiet, with hardly any people roaming its sleepy streets. But on market days, every Tuesday and Thursday, Vicenza is brought to life. Colorful stalls fill every piazza (square) in the town, trading all sorts of goods ranging discounted clothes, shoes, bags, furniture, toys, plants, produce, cheeses, meats, seafoodโฆ you name it! Watching the locals go about their business and being in the middle of a crucial part of Italian daily living has allowed me to start immersing myself into the local culture.
