I have been the only American around since September when I arrived in Japan. It’s fun sometimes feeling special, but it gets kind of lonely. Everyone else around me has something in common with at least one other person, where they are from.

Finally, I got to meet up with one of my friends from my home university. She just got to Japan for her semester abroad. It has been a long time since I have seen another American! It was nice to get to talk to her. We treated ourselves to a very tasty Japanese meal. I could eat another 100 of these meals, it was delicious.
