Last week, I started my journey on January 8th. I landed at London Heathrow Airport and took the tube to my home for the next 4 months. I attend the University of Connecticut’s BFA Acting program, which partners with the FSU Theatre Academy London. The program is centered in the heart of London on Great Russell Street, or Bloomsbury square is what I also learned. I live on the top floor and have the most amazing view of the street below. There are 9 of us in a flat, I know that sounds crazy, but it’s actually not that bad. Out of the 9 of us, 5 are from Chapman University, 2 are from Penn State, and 2 are from UCONN. We all got along within the matter of seconds, I love them all.
Over the course of the semester, FSU takes us on these excursions. Yesterday we went to Windsor Castle, and it was so beautiful. The history within the palace is so rich and deep. We had lunch at a restaurant right down the street, and when you look out the window, you see this towering castle at the top of the hill. It was a lovely sight. Next week, on Thursday 22nd-25th, we will be taking a 4-day trip to Belgium. I believe we are taking the train, but I will keep you updated.
All in all, week 1 has been lovely. I’m so excited to see more, learn more, and most of all grow more. It will be a joruney and I know there will be ups and downs, but it will all be worth it in the end. So buckle up because we got quite the road ahead, and I’m taking you with me. Until next time
