I would like to work in the international development sector to reduce global poverty. Further in the future, I have a great commitment and dream of someday being a global enterprising woman and use business as a tool to create a better world. Indeed, I visualize myself as a person who will empower the powerless and reduce the barriers of inequality by creating a foundation that encourages STEM education to support low-income children, so that they can access quality education. I hope that the less favored children can grow up with a dream and know that people like me support their intellectual and personal development. I also believe that a cumulation of high-quality education, and activities will provide me with the optimal learning experience to make me eligible to succeed in my career goals. <i>Top 3 goals for your time abroad:</i> 1.-I would like to have a transformation in my personal and professional life by experiencing a different academic environment, gaining a global perspective, and challenging my own cultural frame. 2.-My main goal is acquiring the fundamentals to understand marketing strategies and their impact on the company’s performance, and how organizations operate, and determine the major opportunities and problems facing the organization accordingly. 3.-I would like to immerse myself in this beautiful culture and learn more about its rich history, art, food, and social norms.

Embarking on my transformative journey through my study abroad program in Switzerland and Italy was a profound awakening, revealing the exquisite tapestry of cultural diversity that envelops our world. Each encounter, every conversation, and every connection became a stepping stone on my path of personal growth and intercultural understanding. Through networking with influential individuals from various fields, I unearthed the power of embracing diversity, cultivating effective communication, and nurturing the pursuit of social harmony.

In the enchanting landscape of Italy, I had the honor of connecting with Edward Buchanan, a visionary entrepreneur in the fashion industry. His story and insights illuminated the transformative nature of cultural diversity, igniting my understanding of how collaboration across cultures births unparalleled innovation. In this harmonious collaboration, diverse expressions flourish, empowering us to create a world that cherishes and celebrates our collective uniqueness.

In the serene beauty of Lake Como, I had the privilege of meeting Shirley Martinez, a director of financial advisory and leader of transaction services for Mazars. Our profound discussions revealed the crucial role of cultural sensitivity in fostering thriving partnerships within interconnected global markets. I learned that genuine understanding and respect for cultural differences form the bedrock of enduring collaborations, enabling the creation of sustainable and impactful ventures. Shirley’s example as a strong woman in business inspired me to embrace my own voice and recognize the significance of expressing thoughts with respect and confidence. Her influence empowered me to navigate the business world with authenticity and conviction.

My journey also graced me with the opportunity to connect with Atilio Sampietro, the owner of the Museo Della Stampa in Carlazo, Italy. His family business radiated the cherished traditions of Lake Como, demonstrating how his cultural heritage shapes the very fabric of entrepreneurship. Witnessing the fusion of cultural roots and entrepreneurial spirit reminded me of the timeless value in honoring our origins while embarking on ventures that breathe life into innovation. Cultural heritage becomes the compass that guides businesses towards authenticity and purpose, reminding us of the enduring strength found in our traditions.

In the pristine landscapes of Switzerland, I had the privilege of engaging with remarkable figures like Yvonne Apiyo-Brändle-Amolo, a parliamentarian, an unwavering advocate for diversity and inclusion. Her fierce commitment shone a light on the challenges faced by marginalized communities and kindled the transformative power of social activism within me. Through her inspiring example, I discovered that inclusivity and equity form the bedrock of a harmonious society, guiding us to forge paths that honor and embrace every individual.

Moreover, my interactions with leaders from UNESCO’s Inclusion Policy Lab, renowned professors like Dr. Daniela Frau reaffirmed the vital importance of fostering an inclusive environment. Together, they underscored the significance of embracing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, weaving a tapestry of understanding and acceptance in both the government and business sectors. These profound conversations propelled me to champion these principles in every facet of my life, becoming a beacon of change and catalyst for progress. This experience taught me the importance of embracing cultural understanding, fostering thriving partnerships, and empowering ourselves to make a positive impact in the world of business.
