Iยดll admit before the actual decision to travel to Chile, the country was never in my thoughts. Then again, the same can be said for China, my previous home, and all the countries before. I will say, there is indeed a great anticipation for the adventure. I chose this place because it was available. It was an opportunity to know more of the world and so I took it. I am a seed in the wind, and I solely wish to know travel and grow. This is my first experience in South Ameriica, and I hope to make the best of it. I hope to taste the food, dance to the music, and live the life of a Chilean, or at least a traveler. It would also be nice to visit Antarctica before my time in Chile has come to an end…

Brian Anderson

Hi! My name is Brian David โ€œAlexanderโ€ Anderson. I was born in Minot, North Dakota on June 29, 1987. Although my family frequently traveled and I often spent summers in different cities around the country, I was raised in Minot as well. While still in my senior year of high school at Magic City Campus I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. After 4 years of honorable service I was discharged and began my career in academia, first enrolling at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. I am now currently studying Interdisciplinary Studies (Psychology, Sociology, & Spanish) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), and I am expecting to graduate with my Bachelorโ€™s degree at the end of this year. Yet even though my graduation will be the culmination of years of hard work and a major milestone in my life, my study abroad in Santiago, Chile has more importance to me on a personal level. Undoubtedly, traveling may be the most important thing to me in my life. There is a sense of unparalleled awe and excitement that seizes me the moment I am exposed to a new environment. My stay in Chile will not only provide for me this sense of euphoria, but learning as well. And with the knowledge that I gleam from this experience, I hope to continue to travel, and fulfill my dreams of teaching English and Spanish all over the world.
