First Week Abroad in Tokyo

I arrived in Tokyo on May 9th, 2024. For the first 2 days I stayed at my close friend’s house in Tokyo. Staying with my friend made it a lot easier to adjust to Tokyo. On May 11th I was able to move into the dormitory that was provided for my stay in Tokyo. In this first week of being in Tokyo I was able to start getting around on my own using the subway system. It is very complex, but after a day or two I got the hang out it. I was able to explore a few different places with my friends from my home university. We went to the popular places such as Shibuya, Shinjuku as well as other places. Tokyo is a mega-city so there are so many places to go. My Japanese classes will start tomorrow, and I am excited to meet the other exchange students. My main goal is to improve my Japanese skills and I already learned so much before the official classes even began. That’s about it for my first week in Tokyo, Japan.
