FALL IN OXFORD

The trees have started to exile the leaves,

tree spirits decide which are worthy

to be snatched away to dance with the wind

and which stay until winter has shown itself

at fallโ€™s door, asking:

where are the bodies to cover with snow.

None want winter to come,

so leaves hold on to summer as long as they can

before the snatching winds of fall come.
