Published:

Victoria Harbour, one of the world’s most famous harbors, boasts a rich history that is deeply intertwined with the development of Hong Kong itself. Located in the central business district, Victoria Harbour is surrounded by many prominent companies. Additionally, it connects the Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong Island via ferry service. Following the war, the harbor swiftly re-established its significance as a commercial port. During the postwar economic boom, Hong Kong transformed into one of the world’s busiest ports, with Victoria Harbour playing a pivotal role in this development. However, Victoria Harbour is more than just a commercial asset; it is a cultural and symbolic heart of Hong Kong. It hosts major events such as the annual Chinese New Year fireworks, the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival, and the Symphony of Lights, which is a daily light and sound show. The harbor is a symbol of Hong Kong’s economic vitality and its status as a global city.
