Biking in Japan

Biking is a popular form of transportation in Japan. After being here for a month I finally joined the majority of people and got a bike. It’s been a day and I already see the advantage. In Gifu and many other parts of Japan at almost anytime you can look on the side of the road and see a person riding a bike.

Biking is very convenient and most stores even have a bike parking area. The bike I am renting is very different then bikes in America. It has a basket and a built in lock that locks around the wheel so the bike can’t move.

Needless to say, I am glad I finally have one.
