To make new friends in Costa Rica in and outside of my program. I want to experience a wide variety of new foods and learn how to make them so that I can enjoy them back at home.

This past week I had the opportunity to visit the Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio ( National Park Manuel Antonio). While I was there, I got to enjoy the sun and observe some unique wildlife like the crab pictured below. This specific species is called the Mangrove Crab, and as the name implies, they love to hang around mangroves and feed off the roots. I happened to spot this little guy on my way past the mangroves to the beach. Going to the beach was a very different change of pace since most of my time here has been in the rainforest and on various farms. While on the beach, I had a fantastic time swimming with the waves and enjoying the warm sand. I was amazed to see how drastic the local wildlife changed between the jungle and the beach. Overall, I had an amazing time at the beach and enjoyed the Pacific Ocean. Until next time, Pura Vida!
