September 1, 2024—today marks a whirlwind of emotions. I’m caught between excitement and fear. The packing is finally done, and I’m now staring at three heavy bags which probably all weigh more than fifty pounds (but that’s a problem for when we get to the airport).
Spending time with my family today was so nice. The day moved slowly, which was exactly what I needed to take in these moments with my loved ones and stop procrastinating packing. I’m grateful that Britt (sister) and Jonah (brother) made the trip to say goodbye. When I heard my brother was coming up, I thought “woah this is kinda of a big deal”. Mom made dinner so special for all of us. We even did a little apple cider toast to me going abroad and it left some of us in tears. The water works will be going tomorrow when we say our “final” goodbyes, but I know it truly isn’t final, it’s more of a “see you in four months”.
Here’s to a new adventure. Thank you for your everlasting support.
