More About This Scholar
“Hello” in your host country’s language: Hola
Home Institution (your U.S. University/College): University of Houston
Expected graduation year: 2023
Destination city & country: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Program provider: AIFS
Major/minor: English-Applied Linguistics / Education
Demographics: Caucasian/White, Hispanic/Latinx, First-Generation College Student, Transfer Student
Future career aspirations: My academic and professional career has thus far prepared me for my future career as a Teacher of a Second Language. I plan to continue working in billingual education and TESOL to foster diversity and inclusion in language learning. Encouraging others to learn second languages is a passion for me and I believe it can create empathy and greater cultural awareness when you build an understanding of another persons language.
Top 3 goals for your time abroad: Out of many goals for my time abroad the top 3 would be firstly, to speak Spanish more fluently and to expand my professional vocabulary. Secondly, I hope to learn more about the country of Argentina and its history in Latin America, and lastly, I would like to learn how to cook a few authentic Argentinian foods.
