My long-term goal is to attend medical school while engaging in research, as I know how inaccessible information about medical conditions and treatments is for underrepresented communities. I will acquire the scientific knowledge and clinical training necessary to contribute to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment across underserved communities. Ultimately, I hope to open a free clinic in my community, providing care and advocating for individuals who would not have access to essential medical services otherwise. I believe research plays a critical role in achieving my goal, as it allows for evidence-based solutions that can be utilized for different populations. Understanding how social and biological factors intersect in cancer outcomes motivates me to learn more about this field to one day make this information accessible. Overall, my educational and professional goals are to strengthen my scientific foundation, develop my character, and prepare myself for the challenges of medical school and a career in medicine. I am grateful for the opportunity to expand my academic knowledge and contribute to meaningful work that is larger than myself.
