Future Career Goals:
Becoming both an attorney and a legislator allows me to engage with the law from both a practical and systemic perspective. As an attorney, I hope to advocate directly for individuals and communities, ensuring that people have access to fair representation and that the legal system serves justice equitably. This role will allow me to develop a deep understanding of how laws impact people’+N27s everyday lives. Long-term, I aspire to become a legislator, where I can help shape the laws and policies that govern society. I am particularly interested in addressing issues related to equity, access to opportunity, and ethical governance. My goal is to craft legislation that is both thoughtful and effective, grounded in real-world experiences and informed by the needs of diverse communities.
Top 3 Goals for your time abroad:
1) I hope to form genuine relationships with local students, host families, and community members. By engaging beyond the classroom, I want to understand everyday life in Taiwan better and create connections that extend beyond my time abroad.
2) I aim to learn Chinese quickly and in a way that is natural and culturally grounded. Through daily conversations and immersion, I want to build confidence in speaking and understanding the language as it is truly used.
3) As someone interested in law and public policy, I am especially eager to explore the cultural and political differences between the United States and Taiwan. I hope to gain insight into Taiwan’s history, governance, and identity, and reflect on how these differences shape each society.
