Future Career Goals:

I have recently been interested in pursuing a career in international/national adoption, counseling, or foster care. I absolutely love being around children and interacting with them. I hear countless stories about children being moved around from home to home. I want to act as that barrier that helps a child find the perfect home, because every child deserves loving parents. I have also taken an interest in counseling/therapy services. I have always advocated for mental health, and being able to provide help for those seeking these services would bring me joy. Mental health is often not taken seriously and can take a toll on a person’s well-being. The journey is a long and hard one, but being able to support those who are on this journey is my calling.

Top 3 Goals for your time abroad:

I would really love to start learning basic Korean words and phrases while studying abroad. Unfortunately, I can’t take language classes while I am studying abroad due to the credit cap. However, I am participating in my host country’s buddy program, where they pair international students with someone from the university to show them around. My goal is to ask the person I am paired with if they could teach me some everyday words that would help me navigate this unfamiliar place to me. My second goal is to connect with other international students while studying abroad. My host country has a dorm specifically for international students to stay in. Being able to connect and learn from people who are from different places than me would help me navigate my career with a better understanding of my clients. My last goal is to return home with knowledge and information that will prepare me for my future career. Ewha Women’s University is one of the most prestigious Universities in South Korea. Being able to learn at this institution is something that I never dreamed of. Having this chance now feels like it’s too good to be true.
