I see my engineering degree is not just a pathway for a job, but I also see it as an opportunity to become a leader for Latinos and other minorities in STEM. Coming from a very low-resource environment, I often lacked leaders in my community that encouraged me to pursue great things. Thus, I want my story to influence younger generations of students to pursue higher education, especially degrees in STEM, and to not let anyone or anything stop them from achieving their greatest ambitions. Ultimately, one of my most important long-term goals is to give my parents a better life. The key to complete this goal is to become a Latino engineering professional and be able to facilitate my parent’s application to finally become U.S. citizens.

2. Get out of my comfort zone and try new foods, environments, and experiences.
3. Successfully learn concepts of Mechatronics while being immersed in a new culture.
