Perhaps the most memorable Torii I visited was the Futamigaura Torri located near Fukuoka. I was surprised to see a Torii located in the ocean and the rocks behind it made it feel all the more sacred. The rocks behind it are Sakurai Futamigaura’s Couple Stones which are bound together with a shinto rope. I wonder what are some other unique places you can find Torii Gates and Shrines…
