Hello, Everyone!

My name is Ikran Noor and I attend Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Iโ€™m currently an American Studies major and a Political Science minor with double concentrations in Legal Studies and Human Rights. This coming fall I will be studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, which Iโ€™m very excited about. Iโ€™ve never traveled outside the United States so Iโ€™m kind of nervous but simultaneously excited to immerse myself in a different culture. Iโ€™m looking forward to meeting new people, trying local cuisine and traveling throughout Denmark (and of course the academics portion). Iโ€™ve chosen my specific program and location due to the fact that it’s really hands-on and strongly connected to my academic interests. Specifically, one of the courses Iโ€™m looking forward to taking has a component of a field study to Kosovo that really connects with my interests in human rights and the reconciliation that occurs in the aftermath of genocide. My program is unique in that it offers something like a field study tour that wouldn’t be possible in a classroom across the world in the U.S. In the future, Iโ€™m planning to attend Law School to focus on international law as it pertains to human rights law. Iโ€™m hoping to use the experiences and connections I make throughout this study abroad experience to further and solidify my interests.

That’s all Iโ€™ve got for yโ€™all!
