My second week of being abroad in Santiago has come to a close, and I am well into my third. It never fails to astonish me how quickly time moves when you are enjoying yourself! For my escapade this past weekend, my program cohort and I took another trip into the mountains, this time to sight-see glaciers and lakes. To say it was beautiful is an understatement. Never before have I witnessed the beauty of nature in such raw forms (seeing that Texas is mostly flat, this is not too surprising).
Here is the picture that I took for my mom; I thought I would share it here as well!
Furthermore, I had the luxury of venturing to the top of the tallest building in Santiago, The Costanera Center, and getting a breathtaking view of the city. From this view, you can really see the industrialized character of Santiago.
Overall, Chile has been extremely beautiful so far, and I am steadfastly improving in Spanish! The capacity to adapt to new and challenging circumstances has definitely been a skill that I have been forced to enhance during my time abroad so far. I eagerly look forward to what lies ahead!
All the best,
Chris
