Having adjusted to living in another country, I feel much more prepared to move out of Florida and adjust to a new state, wherever life takes me.
Itâ€™s cool that theyâ€™re going to hang up my photo in one of the classrooms at Charles University; itâ€™s like a little piece of me gets to stay behind.
Something important is about to happen. Like feeling a show about to start or falling. Like having a great dream five minutes before waking up.
And it isnâ€™t living in just this city that has made me happy and brave and curious… Studying abroad has taught me to be all of these things no matter where I am.
One part of me wanted to laugh, cheer and cry at how cool this was, but then I thought, this is just these peopleâ€™s lives. For them, this is their daily life.
History seeps out of every alleyway and cobblestone crack, as it was the seat of the Hapsburgs and an incredible cultural crossroads connecting the East to the West.
So this past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to be in Berlin during the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall.
