It’s Cold!

Read all the exciting things our scholars have been up to!

Hi Everyone,

I just finished my first week of school after coming back from Guilin. During this week of school it snowed a couple of times, which I am not used to. I checked the weather and for the next couple of days it’s going to be COLD! Back in California, the lowest degree I’ve encountered might have been around 40 degrees Fahrenheit. :( The lowest temperature I saw was -14 degrees Celsius which is 6.8 degrees Fahrenheit. I’m not sure how I am going to survive.. but my Chinese language partner is going to help me buy some more winter clothes online today!

Anyways, enough about the weather..! This week went by very quickly, and on Friday I went to a concert! My friend told me Galantis was DJing at one of the local clubs in Beijing, so we decided to go. A couple of my classmates and Chinese friends went. Overall it was a good experience! The entry fee was about $30 USD, which is a pretty good deal compared to how much it would have costed in the United States. :)

Something else I just realized is that, I have just about less than a month left of school left! Not only will my study abroad experience be in the past, I will be an UCI Alumni! I no longer feel apart of UCI since I am in Beijing, but it’s crazy how quickly time flies. It was only a bit over 4 years ago since I stepped foot onto UCI, and only a couple months ago since I came to Beijing. It’s funny because I was very nervous coming to Beijing and I had no idea what to expect, and now I am a bit nervous about going back home. Four years of my life has been composed of taking classes and socializing with Biological Sciences majors, but now everyone graduated!  But either way, I’m sure things will be okay once I get back, just like how things were okay when I arrived to Beijing. :)
