Future career aspirations: My goal is to conduct research and produce works that inform sustainable and equitable policymaking on a macro-level, whether that goal is met through academia, the non-profit sector, or an international organization like the World Bank. I am also passionate about studying the economic, political, and cultural interconnections between the Middle East and East Asia; I hope to continue learning about and sharing this wide body of knowledge with others through publishing books and teaching courses at a university.
Top 3 goals for your time abroad: 1. Reach superior proficiency in the Arabic language, including Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) as well as in colloquial dialects, such as Moroccan (Darija) and Egyptian (Masri)
2. Gain professional skills in the public or non-profit sector through my internship experience
3. Make lifelong friends with the individuals I meet through my program and host family
