Lucía was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She moved to Austin, TX at the age of 20, in order to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Global Studies at the University of Texas. In 2015 she received a Fund for Education Abroad scholarship, through which she spent 7 months studying International Law, Human Rights and French at Sciences-Po in Paris.
During her studies, Lucía cultivated a great interest in minorities and immigrants’ rights in the United States. She volunteered as a teacher and translator at various organizations serving refugees and asylum seekers, and as an application reviewer for FEA. After graduation, she worked as an immigrants’ rights advocate and translator on the Texan border and in Mexico.
Lucía’s other interests include women’s and LGBTQ+ rights, budget travel, writing short stories, and all the performing arts from ballet to improv comedy.
