This past Sunday was my friend’s birthday and she invited us to spend the day with her at Lotte World. Lotte World is the world’s largest indoor amusement park. It doesn’t look very big in the picture, but all the attractions are intertwined with each other so there are a lot of rides to choose from.
The rides aren’t as grand as what you get in Universal Studios or Disney World, but they are still fun especially when you are with friends. The wait for most rides wasn’t too long, maybe around 30-50 minutes and there were a lot of places to eat, shop, and play so time went by very fast.
My favorite attraction was this carousel. It might seem like any carousel at any other amusement park, zoo, or mall, but this carousel has been in so many Korean movies, dramas, and variety shows. It’s more of a tourist attraction than a ride, as everyone was taking picture near and on the ride. It is where the some scenes from the drama Stairway to Heaven were shot. This has a special meaning to me because that was the first Korean drama that my mom bothered watching with me since I was leaving to Korean back in 2013. We cried a lot watching it, but we both enjoyed it and afterwards my mom was more supportive and understanding of my decision to study abroad in Korea.
