Corporate Relations/Fundraising Intern
Ginelle grew up in Ohio taking a keen interest in foreign languages as an adolescent. In high school, she studied and tutored French and Mandarin. Ginelle went on to study at American University in Washington, DC to pursue a degree in International Business with dual minors in French and Chinese. During her time at American University, she was lucky enough to study abroad twice. The first time was for an academic semester at the NEOMA business school in Rouen, France. At NEOMA she was a directly enrolled student taking business courses in French and living with a host family. The second time was for a summer semester in Beijing, China at Peking University. Through an intensive immersion program, Ginelle learned a year’s worth of Mandarin in two months.
Ginelle is the first person in her family to know another language and to study abroad. She values international experiences as it helps people understand not only others’ way of life, but to also understand their own embedded culture. In the future, Ginelle hopes to promote cultural understanding in and out of the workplace.
